Fun for the Littlest Ones

Children's Festival This Week

May 11, 2009

This week through to Victoria Day, the Vancouver International Children's Festival is happening at Vanier Park. There are still ticket to some of the concerts which are a reasonable 16 dollars a piece and include entrance to the rest of the venues. If you are looking for the best weather day, Thursday looks to be it.

I am planning to go on Friday with a bunch of parents and kids from my son's preschool class. We are bringing a picnic and rain gear and hope to spend a few hours hanging out, doing crafts, dancing and playing up a storm.

What about you? Do you go to the children's festival? If so, maybe I will see you there.

The Siblings Busy Book

September 22, 2008

If you have read my biography you know that I am expecting my second child soon. I am trying to find ways to include my son in my activities with the baby and vice versa. To this end I picked up a new book The Siblings Busy Book by Lisa Hanson and Heather Kempskie. I heard about this book on the Manic Mommies podcast and both Lisa and Heather were interviewed. The Siblings Busy Book is  Read more...

Fall Fun? Try Apple Picking

My son just finished four classes of his first dance class ever. When I was searching for some preschool enrichment classes this summer for Being Savvy Vancouver I came across Kinder-tartan dance classes for the 3-5 year old. My son loves to dance at home so I thought I would give it a try. I  Read more...

I am on the lookout for new programs for preschoolers, especially with weekend times as well as weekday times. I am going to be busy a little later this fall and I want my son to have some one on one time with his dad. I was very glad to get my members email from Science World with the  Read more...

Canada Day Events Tomorrow

June 30, 2008

As we celebrate the 141st anniversary of Confederation, what is happening for Canada day in the Lower Mainland tomorrow? The answers is lots, though not as much as in Ottawa. One of these years I plan to take a family Vacation to Ottawa around Canada Day. I think it would be a blast. Here in the lower mainland there are things to do in almost every municipality. Top 5 Things to do in the Rain in Vancouver

June 10, 2008

Those for you from Vancouver are laughing at me right now. Shouldn't this just be titled "Top 5 things to do in Vancouver?" I know, I know, it rains a lot. 1: My first piece of advice is to check out your local Community Centres. For a couple of dollars your children can bounce in a bouncy castle, play with some Flintstone cars, run around with other rambunctious kids and  Read more...
